Victoria and Elizabeth II – long reigning monarchs of the United Kingdom

In 2013 there was a double celebration – the present queen, Elizabeth II, celebrated her diamond jubilee, 60 years on the throne, and it was 175 years since Queen Victoria’s coronation. Victoria reigned for a total of 63 years and 216 days. In 2015, Queen Elizabeth II stole her great, great grandmother’s ‘crown’ and became Britain’s longest reigning monarch. She has now been queen for over 64 years.
