As we explained in October, the Companions offer your students the opportunity to consolidate their grammar, vocabulary, structures and phrases they have learnt in the coursebook through a variety of diverse exercises, short reading texts and entertaining activities. And there is also a CD with each Companion to reinforce learning and help with pronunciation.
The Companions can be used at home or in the classroom. Use them for further Selfstudy for homework or in the lesson: the Companions will provide your students with an opportunity to consolidate their learning from the Network Now coursebooks. In the lesson, exercises and activities can be a useful filler for the whole class or be given to more confident students who have finished a coursebook activity faster than the others.
The Companions can also be used for homework on a weekly basis or during those periods between courses (or over longer holiday periods) when having some extra work can be a means for students to keep their English ticking over. There is a key at the back of the book so students can work independently. Each Companion is accompanied by a CD with plenty of listening material to enhance understanding and to improve pronunciation. On the A1 Starter Companion CD the final six tracks give students the opportunity to check their understanding of the six individual units in the coursebook – to prepare them for the next course level.
