Network Now Resource Book A1 A2 B1

Teaching tip

The Network Now Resource Book A1 A2 B1 is ready to use, so you are ready to teach.

Launched at the end of October, here is a brilliant addition to the Network Now range of materials: welcome to the Network Now Resource Book, a very attractive mixture of photocopiable puzzles, games and activities to practise language in the classroom.

Our new Resource Book can be used either as consolidation or development of the vocabulary and structures which are being taught. Containing 72 varied and diverse communicative activities divided between the three levels, A1, A2 and B1, this single book will provide you with activities for more than one class of students.

Within each level the activities are sub-divided into Grammar, Vocabulary and Functions, each activity being clearly labelled with information about the timing and the focus of the activity and you can also see what preparation is necessary. The procedure is then explained in clear steps, so you know exactly how to present each activity in your lesson.

You can use the Network Now Resource Book to complement the Network Now series, but it can also be used just as well together with other coursebooks. It offers an appealing range of puzzles, games and activities, making it a welcome addition to every teacher’s bookshelf.

Why not try the activity Tell me about yourself from the Network Now Resource Book with your class? It can be used with most levels. You find a copy of the detailed instructions to help you use the activity below. You and your students will be sure to get to know each other better and have some fun in the process …

Instructions from the Network Now Resource Book for the activity Tell me about yourself:

Focus              Function: Giving personal information
Preparation    Copy sheet 68 so that there is one per student.
Procedure
  1. Explain to the students that the aim is to find out more about their partner by inviting them to write down some facts and opinions.
  2. Ask for suggestions of how to complete number 1, e.g. three people you admire most / three TV programmes you enjoy most / three foods you dislike most, etc.
  3. Allow students time to complete the sentences.
  4. Students work in pairs, swap papers and fill in the required information.
  5. When they’ve filled in the information, students discuss, justify and explain what they’ve written.
